Have been using HAM for my last 5 cuts and beard trims. Haven't had this great of service since I left DC 6 years ago. Finally, after years of trying to find someone since I'm back home, (found 2 others but they moved) the search is over.

Found out he is no longer here after I tried to re book. Thankfully I found his number and was able to track him down!

The 5 Stars are based on HAMs haircut.

Lots of catty gay eye rolling and "well we didn't learn that in hair school" so you don't know what you want attitude. Specifically from Chris. Manny did my beard and the fade on the side great. However him and Chris just were confused on what I wanted done with the top. It's the same haircut I've got for several years and I described how I have to anyone else that's cut my hair and would have been able to execute it just fine. Unfortunately I don't take a ton of pictures and they just kept asking to see pictures of what I wanted. I showed them 2 of the best I could find while being pressured for them but they still "couldn't get it." I wish I would have walked out and went somewhere else. The top is choppy and doesn't blend well. Shorter than I wanted and doesn't style well it's also very uneven and super short on one side at an angle hallway over the top of my head. I tried to guide them through multiple explanations but Chris really just kept shutting it down and made me feel like I had no clue what I was talking about about. Manny did apologize for the time it took (1hr45min) since I was going to have to rush to work....and I think he could tell I was upset with the results of the cut but I'm the kind of person that is nice and just told him it was fine. For the price point and social media photos I expected a much higher quality cut and this just fell very short unfortunately. A friend of mine gets a cut with them that looks 1000x better than what I ended up with. Again, the person I am, I still left a 20% tip. My hair was styled pretty rough when I walked out. Once I was past the doors I tossed on my hat. Luckily hair grows out and I'll make do with the current result for a few weeks. Everyone in any craft has their bad days or limit to what they can do so I'll chalk it up to that but I'm not sure I'll ever trust them with my hair again. =/

The best!

Chris is my #1 go-to guy. Not only is the haircut on point, but our conversations are REAL. Deep, funny or surface-level when they need to be. I greatly appreciate the connections and relationships I’ve nurtured at the shop.

Rue did an amazing job on my hair! He's so talented, thoughtful, and went out of his way to make me feel comfy and safe. I've had some weird experiences in barbershops before, so going to a queer barbershop is wonderful. I asked for some styling tips since it's been a while since I had short hair, and his advice was super helpful - bed head never looked so good! The hot towel is so soothing too. Bonus points for the fact that The Barbashop shares space with a tasty sushi spot and a nice coffeeshop!

My usual barber was booked up around the holidays so scheduled a cut with Nick. Online booking was super easy. Nick gave me a great mid fade with scissors up top. Shop is clean and well-maintained. Definitely my go-to backup spot now.

The most recommended places to visit if you desire a haircut done correctly from the very beginning! Based on my personal experiences, and I do get haircuts quite often, from the moment you enter until the moment you leave, you are treated with utmost respect and made to feel like a valued individual.

I’m telling you right now. Go to this barbershop. Every barber is welcoming, funny, and kind. The atmosphere is positive and chill; they even have a dj at times. Best group of people you’ll find.
